Downtime
by Drew Dahl on Mar.15, 2010, under Site News
Well, there’s been a LOT of downtime. We were doing some routine maintenance and a lot went wrong. I’ve got some new parts coming this week sometime (hopefully), so at current I’m planning on drewdahl.com going down sometime on Friday and will hopefully be up by Saturday in the AM.
If things change, I’ll post, but I’m currently taking steps to prevent any more downtime than is required.
Create a Login!

Well, if any of you have tried to create accounts, you’ve probably been saddened by the fact that the mail server wasn’t working properly. It’s an issue with a various set of problems, but I’ve finally setup sendmail to relay all mail to gmail, so life should be good
If you want to create a user, please go to http://drewdahl.com/wp-login.php and register. If not, that’s fine too
You should receive post updates regarding comments when you leave your e-mail addresses now as well. I’ll be posting instructions on how to setup sendmail to use GMail’s smtp server in the near future.
Server is Back!
by Drew Dahl on Sep.07, 2009, under Site News
WOOO! Alright, so the server is now 100% up. We’ve converted to RHEL5 and are doing hella fine
Anyway, life’s good… not everything is 100% back up yet, but none of it truly matters either ^_^ so! It’s all good. To bed now =)
THE SERVER IS DOWN!!!
by Drew Dahl on Aug.12, 2009, under Site News
Just a heads up for everyone who actually might visit this site and have a slight interest in everything…
I’m upgrading the server, so there WILL be some server downtime. Specifically, tonight I’ll be swapping out Power Supplies. Not sure when exactly, but it’ll be before the night is over. You probably won’t even notice ^_^.
Anyway, after that… next week sometime (I’ll post again), I’m taking the server down for a longer period. Getting dual Opterons in, might do a fresh install to get rid of some unneccesary magic that I did >.> All in all, I expect that to take about two hours if it goes really smooth, otherwise it may take as many as six.
Taking Bets =D
